Introduction and Usage of Optical Fiber Cable
An optical cable is a communication line in which a certain number of optical fibers compose a cable core in a certain manner, and are covered with a sheath, and some are also covered with an outer sheath to realize optical signal transmission.
That is a cable formed by an optical fiber (optical transmission carrier) through a certain process. The basic structure of the optical cable is generally composed of several parts such as the cable core, reinforced steel wire, filler and sheath. In addition, there are components such as a waterproof layer, a buffer layer, and an insulated metal wire as required.
Optical fibers are used most often as a means to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber and find wide usage in fiber-optic communications, where they permit transmission over longer distances and at higher bandwidths (data transfer rates) than electrical cables. Fibers are used instead of metal wires because signals travel along them with less loss; in addition, fibers are immune to electromagnetic interference, a problem from which metal wires suffer.
